Promoting Geothermal Heating and Cooling Systems for Long Island

Heating & Cooling Using Geothermal Technology

Bringing Geothermal into Mainstream HVAC

Ground-Source Heat Pumps: Its Future is Now!

Welcome

Welcome to the Long Island Geothermal Energy Organization (LI-GEO) web site.

We are a nonprofit association specifically interested in promoting the use of ground-source heat pumps to heat and cool buildings on Long Island. Other terms used are “geoexchange” or “geothermal” heating and cooling. We will use this latter term.

When choosing a heating and air conditioning system, look into geothermal heating and cooling!

How We Can Help You

Contractors and consumers are stakeholders in keeping Long Island healthy and affordable.

Contractors: Do you want to install the most affordable indoor climate systems? We bring a consistent, cohesive and practical approach to geothermal heating and cooling.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a U.N.-sponsored scientific panel, has just reported it is “extremely likely” global warming is predominantly man-made. Let’s do our part. Make a difference in climate change by Going Geo! “Going Geo” means trading in your old, polluting oil-fired, gas-fired or costly-to-run electrical resistance heating system for one clean, quiet, energy-efficient geothermal ground source heat pump (GHP). Since one GHP provides heating and cooling it replaces both your old heating system and air conditioner. Although you may not have heard about geo, it’s not new: this renewable technology has Continue Reading...
